CONTRARY to the general mood of depression in industry, employers in the transport vehicle manufacturing sector are optimistic in their labour forecasts for this autumn. This is reported by the Manpower quarterly review, which says there is a definite risk that the unacceptable figure of one million unemployed may be a reality this winter, unless the Government takes positive steps to allay doubts felt throughout British industry.
