THE report of the R.H.A, licensing I study group, with its controversial plans for a much-modified system. is to form the basis of the recommendations on road haulage licensing which the Association is to make to the Geddes Committee set up by the Minister of Transport to inquire into the whole question of licensing in this country.
This was agreed at a meeting of the R.H.A. national council last week: the study group's recommendations were considered by the executive committee in July and were forwarded to the national council with certain amendments. At the council meeting a vote of thanks to the study group for their work in producing the report was approved with acclamation.
