A CONCERN which has successfully ..tirealized the potentialities of the modern motorvan for publicity purposes is I. Wix and Sons, Ltd., 210, Old Street, London, E.C., the manufacturer of Kensitas cigarettes, and the manner in which its vehicles are employed to fulfil the dual function of transport and advertising media is indicated by illustrations appearing on this page, the van in question being used for the delivery of cigarettes to retailers.

The attractive body of this vehicle is mounted on a standard Morris-Commercial chassis and is made to resemble a large cigarette box. A smaller portion, which is built to represent a carton, is attached at the rear. This Lack portion, or extension, as it might be termed, forms the rear door and contains a shelved cupboard, which is used for the storing of advertising cards and other matter used for Publicity purposes.

A small drop-down flap, which is provided beneath this door, facilitates the loading and unloading of the contents of the vehicle. The flap and door can be secured by means of a special type of bolt, the handle of which projects beneath the base of the extension, The interior of the body, which is of the plain box type., is roomy, It is

9 ins. high. It is finished in the wellknown Kensitas yellow, with a large figure of Jenkyn, the butler, which is the trade symbol of this concern, on each side of the vehicle and at the rear. The spare wheel and tyre are carried at the off side of the driver's compartment; incidentally, the vehicle is shod with by 41,-in. Dunlop as. cord tyres. The electric lighting equipment is of Lucas manufacture, whilst ( an auxiliary set of oil lamps is also carried.

It is stated that this neat and undoubtedly attractive vehicle, the body of which was built by 3. C. Beadle and Co., Ltd., of Dartford, makes an average daily journey of about 75 miles and has proved satisfactory and economical in operation. The user states that the van is proving ideal for the quick service which is an essential requirement of its transport arrangements.
