Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AObviously, yes, if it can be made to work

according to theoretical promise. The recently announced Associated Engineering electronic system should be acceptable to engine manufacturers because it is relatively simple to install. In spraying into the inlet ports. the injectors are controlled by solenoids, fuel being fed at constant pressure to chambers in the nozzle. This eliminates pulsating flow in fuel lines and the associated problems of surge and so on.

Injection timing is provided by what is known as a trigger-distributor which is the only mechanically-driven component in the system. Of special note, the use of electronics facilitates the application of control devices that adjust the mixture strength to every variable and thus cater for cold starting, changes in temperature, acceleration, etc. These devices comprise thermistors or transducers that react to changes in coolant temperature, air temperature, manifold pressure, rate of acceleration and operation of the starter motor.
