Answering Mr. de Freitas, who questioned him about progress made by the Minister in the study of means to reduce noise from motor vehicles, Mr. Marples said the manufacturers were continually studying ways of doing this and had had considerable success. The Ministry, with the full co-operation of MIRA. and the National Physical Laboratory, had been engaged on tests of proposals for methods of measuring noise by the use of meter devices.
