VVE record with deep regret the death. on Monday, of Mr. Claud Barrington, a member of the board of management, British Road Services, Ltd., and chairman of B.R.S. (Pickfords), Ltd. He was 67.

Mr. Barrington was also chairman of Atlantic Steam Navigation Co., Ltd. lie started in road haulage in 1921, in Bristol, later extendinghis activities to London and Birmingham. In 1936 he formed Transport Services, Ltd., and was managing director when it was nationalized in 1948. He then became a member of the Road Haulage Executive with responsibility for freight and later a member of the B.R.S. Board when the Executive ceased to exist.
