A recent report of the Auckland (New Zealand) Carporation mentions that safety zones have been installed at 31 important tramway loading paints. The city by-laws require all traffic to pull up at tram stops while passengers are entering or leaving tramcars, except at safety zones. The installation of the zones has proved of all-round advantage, benefitting other users of the road as well as travellers on tramcars.
