While the Hawk tends to lie down as soon as anyone mentions the word exercise, he's never averse to praising the efforts of those who are willing to break into a sweat—especially for a good cause. And the recent Bethersden, Kent, Five-Mile Road Race, sponsored by Daf Trucks and local Ashford dealer Channel Commercials, is a good case tn point. Not content with lending a financial hand— the proceeds go to the local primary school— Channel provided its spanking new silver 95XF480 demonstrator for the winners' enclosure. What better way to welcome the runners home, I'd like to know?

Meanwhile, Paul likes nothing better than to catch up on the latest news. "I always take my copy of Commercial Motor to the race meetings," he says. "Sometimes I don't get time to read the whole magazine when it arrives on my desk on Thursday morning, but there is always plenty of time at the races."
