Buick Frank Dennington, who traded as Huthwaite Traction International and now trades as D D International, had applied for renewal for three vehicles and two trailers based at the Alfreton, Derbyshire premises of J Ryan Transport.

He told the LA that he hired a vehicle and then hired a trailer from the company he was working for.

He had gone bankrupt after he had made an offer which his creditors refused to accept and the Official Receiver had told him to continue trading.

Dennington said he had bought the property because the previous owner had permission to operate tippers, but the council decided to withdraw that permission and he was prosecuted before the magistrates. He had also had problems with travellers who appeared in an adjacent field. He blocked them in with 12 trailers, the trailers were still there and the travellers had not returned.
