Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Enco Express is launching a computerised brake and wheel alignment analyser that will, it says, "revolutionize the vehicle maintenance industry".

The Dutch-made AREX analyser is claimed as the first drive-on brake and wheel alignment tester available in the UK_ Equipment includes a four plate brake tester with weighing and slide slip meter, which is connected to a computer with a coloured screen and a printer.

The test, done under real driving conditions, also weighs the car-derived van or car, makes allowances for the weight being transferred to the front on braking and checks if the proportioning valve is working. "This whole range of tests, which could be lifesaving, takes less than 40 seconds," says technical director RanaId Ross-Watt.

"The analysis is much more detailed than a roller brake tester," he told Workshop. The analyser costs 17,950 plus VAT or a weekly hire payment of around 140.
