CHINA is to begin building the iveco Daily range of light commercials under licence. The vehicles will be produced by the Nanjing Motor Corporation with annual production expected to be around 60,000 units.
The Chinese government is to invest close to £205m restructuring 17 plants in and around Nanking using iveco technology. All components including engines will be produced in China which also expects to build a number of Daily engines for industrial use.
During the first three years of the agreement, signed recently between the People's Republic of China and lveco, 300 Chinese technicians will visit Italy for training.
