NYK in licence expansion bid
IIINYK LOGISTICS has applied for an increased 0-licence authorisation at its Europa Industrial Park facility in Swindon to 45 vehicles and 70 trailers.
The transport company provides a collection and delivery service for Honda UK Manufacturing, which is also based in the town.
The contract involves transporting components from 53 British suppliers to five delivery locations.
In July 2009, Honda and NYK renewed their partnership for a further two years. Last month, NYK announced a deal with Dobbies Garden Centres to ship garden furniture and plants from Asia into Grangemouth container port.
The operation is based at NYK's Glasgow distribution centre. Other major NYK clients include Bosch, Casio. Nato, Sanyo, Yamaha Music. Samsung and Volkswagen Logistics.
