PRODUCTION of the Daimler rear-engined bus chassis is running at a higher level than ever before and is continuing to rise. This follows the introduction of a new production line at the Radford, Coventry, works of Transport Vehicles (Daimler) Ltd.
This new Daimler bus chassis assembly layout is designed to accommodate volume production of all models, including the new Roadliner rear-engined, single-decker chassis which has now gone into production.
Latest order received by the company for Roadfiners comes from Darlington Corporation Transport, which has increased an existing order to 12 buses of this type to be fitted with 48-seat, dual-entrance bodies by Chas. H. Roe Ltd., Leeds.
