Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

New Bodybuilding Aid SOME bodybuilders have employed sandwich-construction panelling already. Usually, this has taken the form of rigid plastics foam sheet enclosed between metal or plastics panels to which it is bonded by an additional adhesive.

Although this type of panel is The foam in this sandwich panel satisfactory the method of its conwas produced in situ using struction can only be applied to constituents. Curved

flat panels a uniform thickness. panels can also be made. Now, the Dyestuffs Division of Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd., Imperial Chemical House, Millbank, London, S.W.1, has developed two constituents which, when mixed, react to form a foam. When these are poured into the cavity. between two suitably jigged panels—slight pressure occurs during the foaming—the .foam produced rises to fill the cavity, whatever its shape. This means that curved sandwich panels can be produced almost as easily as flat ones.

Heat arises from the process and this cures the foam and causes it to adhere firmly to the enclosing panels which can be aluminium, steel, plywood, most plastics and a number of other conventional construction materials." The plastics foam, which sets hard when cured, has good insulation properties and can be produced in densities from, 2-10 Cu. ft. upwards,

Battery Care AUTOMATIC distilled water replenishment for vehicle batteries is provided by the Battromatic device manufactured by N. Frankmann, 3 Galway Grove, Wigan, Lancs. It consists of a 2-pint plastics tank feeding valve units screwed into the cellsin place of the

normal vent plugs. • Each valve unit is operated by a small plastics float which falls as the fluid level drops, permitting water to enter, and then rises to cut off the flow as the correct level is reached.

Sound Deadening FOR the prevention of drumming in thin metal panels, Supra Chemical and Paints, Ltd., Hainge Road, Tividale, Tipton, Staffs, offer a sound-deadening material in sheet form for stoving on to base metals. The material is tacky when cold which makes it slightly selfadhesive.

After being placed on the panel, the complete assembly is stoved for five minutes at 300° F., causing the material to _adhere to the metal whilst following any. contour.

It is known as Dedshete and it can be supplied cut to any shape up to 3 ft. 6 in. by '2 ft. 6 in. Any reasonably clean surface will accept the material and it adheres even to stock-oiled sheet which has not been' degreased previously.

Once in position Dedshete can be re-staved at up to 350° F. during subsequent finishing operations. It is unaffected by phosphating, hot water, detergents or dilute acids and alkalis and can be over-painted with only slight discoloration of light shades.

Automatic Switching 'THE Mayklite automatic light switch I produced by Mayra Electronics, Ltd., 551 Holloway Road, London, N.I9, incorporates a sensing device which 'actuates the switch when light intensity decreases.

When attached, by the suckers provided, to the windscreen of a vehicle and connected to the appropriate terminals on the lamp switch and control box, the unit will switch on the parking lights at lighting-up time and extinguish them at dawn. It costs £4 and is suitable for all vehicles with 12-v. electrical systems.

Maximum air consumption was 25 cu. ft. per minute.

Pressureor suction-feed models are avai1a1e and they can be modified for left-hAnded operation. The fluid supply and width of the spray arc can be adjusted with one hand.

The gun is suitable for a wide range of paints and lacquers and for high viscosity materials. Air consumption rates down to 5 Cu. ft. per minute are provided by interchangeable air caps, needles and nozzles.
