Brown, secretary of the London and Horne Counties Division of the Traders' Road Transport Association, when he spoke to a meeting of Hertfordshire members last week.

Mr. Hocking asked about the provision of kerbs on the motorway, and the Minister said that raised kerbs at the side of the carriageway might be struck by vehicles, and edges to the shoulder would interfere with drainage. Other means of defining the outer part of the shoulder were being considered.
