Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

THE motor industry was on the threshold of the greatest period of expansion and development in its history, but however many vehicles were produced, Girlings would keep pace with the supply of brakes and dampers, said Mr. Alex Fraser, of Girling Ltd., last Friday, at the wellknown " Girling Occasion," held annually.

He added that already the company had broken all previous records. The factory at Cwmbran had stepped up output by 50 per cent, without increasing the labour force. Production of brakes had been more than doubled and of telescopic dampers, quadrupled. By the end of this year the weekly delivery would amount to 70,000 brakes and 30,000 dampers. Already plant for much greater quantities was being installed and labour was available.

Mr. Fraser emphasized, however, the need for buyers to keep to a minimum any departures from Standard that they specified.

One new product to which he referred was a cheap but accurate decelerometer of the recording type.
