I NCREASED rates are to be introduced by British Road Services on March 28.
"Substantial recent increases in labour and other costs," B.R.S. said on Tuesday; e" now make it necessary to obtain additional revenue. No general increase is to be applied to rates for general haulage, but adjustments will be made in appropriate circumstances.
" In the parcels-smalls services covering traffics up to a ton, the incidence of labour costs is More pronounced. Accordingly, public tariffs are being increased, particularly where the smaller consignments are concerned, to produce an overall increase in revenue of approximately 71 per cent."
