is the first picture of the Mercedes-Benz Unimog EcoWasteShuttle which will be launched at next week's IWM show in Torbay.

The rig combines a 4x4 Unimog and a 19-tonne payload tipping Gull trailer to give a GCW of 31 tonnes. It is regis tered as a commercial vehicle and is capable of 56mph on the road in addition to its off-road capabilities.

The Unimog is powered by a 237hp (177kW) charge-cooled diesel via an eight-speed manual gearbox and front and rear diff-locks. It also has front and rear PTO capability. Tyres are 395/85R20 Michelin XML; it has all-round ABS.

The Gull trailer features air braking with ABS and twin axles fitted with 445/65R22.5 Michelin XZA tyres. The trailer is shot blasted, primed, top coated and then oven baked. It has twin tipping rams and hydraulic doors which allow the operator to remain in the cab as the load is discharged.
