coming under renewed pressure to act in the case of jailed ownerdriver Steve Bryant after the Portuguese government intervened to get one of its drivers freed from the same Moroccan prison.

The unnamed Portuguese driver, who was arrested after loading at the same fish factory as Bryant, was freed last month, following a visit to Rabat by a Portuguese delegation.

Bryant has told his supporters that a new Moroccan government is reviewing its legal system and may examine his case. During his trial the man who ran the factory—who was subsequently arrested and jailed—gave evidence that Bryant knew nothing of the cannabis resin found hidden in his trailer.
