With its computer database now in service, the VI will be able to retrieve data on specific makes and models of vehicle with reasons for test failures. By 1994 the computer will be linked to the new-style rolling roads and will be able to draw data directly from test stations.
Data from the rolling roads that are already installed could be available by model as early as next year, says VI chief executive Ron Oliver.
