Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I THOUGHT I had a fair general knowledge of vintage commercial vehicles but the 1915 Jeffrey-Quad that gained four awards in the Wincanton historic commercial vehicle run from London to Brighton caught me out. It was of a make built in America from 1914-17 by Thos B. Jeffrey Co, of Kanosha, Wisconsin, and afterwards, I believe, by the Nash company.

The Quad was of particularly advanced design, driving, steering and braking on all four wheels. It was widely used in the 1914-18 war and the vehicle that won its restorer, Richard Peskett, of Hindhead, Surrey, such acclaim was in fact built for military service by the French.

The French Latil — a make that survived from 1904 until 1955 — was another with four-wheel drive and steering. It was known in Britain as the Latil Traulier and was in demand for forestry work. Perhaps its design was inspired by the Jeffrey-Quad.
