Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ENTRY steps on public service vehicles will no longer need to be at least 10 inches from the ground as from June 9. This is one of the changes in the Public Service Vehicles (Condition of Fitness, Equipment and Use) (Amendment) Regulations laid before Parliament last week.

Other changes will mean that a vehicle must have no mechanical equipment which could prevent an emergency exit from being used.

When a vehicle which is not required to be fitted with a door interlock has doors which extend more than three inches beyond the sides, then the door edges must be covered with soft rubber.

The requirement that a driver should not operate radio or public address equipment from his seat is also revoked.

Copies of the Regulations (SI 726/76) are available price 12p from HM Stationery Office.
