by CM reporter THE DoE experimental plan to introduce licensing relaxations for psv operating in some rural areas progressed a further step last week with the appointment of a steering committee. But most of those appointed seem committed to the continuance of the existing system.
Representing the Confederation of British Passenger Road Transport is Mr S. J. B. Skyrme, chief executive of the National Bus Company—and representing the Transport and General Workers Union is Mr Larry Smith. Other representatives come from local government associations, taxi operators' association, the railmen and the National Consumer Council.
The design of proposed projects will be the responsibility of local working groups under the central steering committee.
