Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

FORMER CID man Mr Fred Topham has found another batch of abandoned or damaged trucks and trailers on his way to Tehran overland (CM last week).

He has been taking the truck routes to try to find some of the vehicles that have gone astray after being involved in accidents, being stolen or just broken down.

Mr Topham has now found 28 trucks and their trailers in various stages of being stripped or damaged across Europe and owners should telephone 01-594 0333 for details of the vehicles discovered.

The latest cache found in Sanja includes: Fiat ANS 549M with damaged trailer W/139 is on its side and guarded. At Sivas trailer 170423 is on its side with two wheels missing and a MAN unit UYJ 571M has a smashed cab.

At Erzincan trailer W83 is outside the Urato Hotel and a burned out Volvo GBO 883N with trailer 170396 is on its side.

A Volvo road train has been abandoned at Bazargan—no registration number available. Mr Topham is finalising the release of one vehicle in custody in Meshad and another may be released on new carnets.
