WINTER MEETINGS FIXED
AEETINGS of the Institute of Trans1V1port will be held in London during the forthcoming season on the following dates:—November 15, December 13 (Henry Spurrier Memorial Lecture), January 17, February 14 (Brancke'r Memorial Lecture), and March 21. Meetings of the Metropolitan Section and the Metropolitan Graduate and Student Society are not included in this list.
The anniversary luncheon will be held on November 1 and .the annual dinner on March 18, 1949. Informal luncheons will take place on February 22 and April 12, 1949.
LIGHT METAL CURTAIN ON U.S.!
APARTY of business friends gathered on Monday evening to give a sendoff to Mr. R. R. Seymour, managing director of G. Brady and Co., Ltd.. Manchester, who leaves this week for a sales tour of Canada and the United States. He will travel in a British-built Ford van, equipped with the newest types of Brady roller shutter.
Among the types used is an anodized light-metal design which has been developed as a result of war-time aircraft experience and can be finished in a variety of colours.
RADIUS LIMIT ABbLISHED NDER The Motor Fuel (Hire Car) (Revocation) Order, 1948, which came into force on June 1, the radius limit on the use of hire cars and taxicabs is abolished.
