Service, the truck and trailer service and repair arm of the York Group. For the past year he has been manager of the York Service depot in Leeds, responsible for eight staff. He now heads a team of around 20, and is responsible for five franchise outlets. He hopes to have eight by the end of the year.
Godfrey will be based initially in Leeds, but by the end of the year he expects to be working from a more central location at the York Group's tipper trailer and body manufacturer's site at Mansfield.
His responsibility at the Neville Charrold manufacturing site will be to manage the trailer refurbishment operation which has been based there for the past five months.
The new refurbishment division can extend trailers to the new allowed lengths then fit new bodies.
Before joining York Service, Godfrey spent five years at TIP Trailer Rental, where he was operations manager. He also worked for Goodyear Tyre Company.
