Understanding ADR

• A guide to carrying dangerous goods abroad by road safely has been published by the Vehicle Inspectorate.

A Guide to ADR (Arrangement Dangereuse Routiers) is aimed at operators already in the market and those who plan to start taking hazardous loads to the Continent. It covers vehicles which need ADR, the training needs of operators, applying for certification and the technical requirements and standard of inspection.

However the VI says the guide is not intended to be a replacement for the Green Book, the standard agreement between all EC countries regarding the carriage of dangerous goods, A Guide to ADR costs £12 (inc P&P).
