FROM TODAY the correspondence course on the Certificate of Professional Competance previously run by CM and Transport Driver Training (Esher} Ltd is under the control of Road Transport Correspondence Courses of Chertsey, Surrey.

However, the course remains the same and the same tutors — Eddie Pargeter and Frank Livesey — are retained. The change will not affect existing students except that future payments should be made payable to Road Transport Correspondence Courses and not TDT, which is ceasing to trade.

THE TRANSPORT and General Workers' Union last week reaffirmed its opposition to the Channel tunnel proposals, saying that it would give France an unacceptable control over British imports and exports, increase the drift of employment to South-east England, and cause a loss of jobs at Channel ferry ports.
