"Observer", that very readable columnist in the Financial Times, had a salutary piece for all parcels carriers to take to heart, in last Friday's issue. It went like this:— "I'm still not quite sure what happened to the parcel from International Express Company—but here is the text of their latest letter: 'Further to our advice of pending arrival of the above-mentioned consignment, we would advise that having been advised that the parcel was sent off in January this year, despite the fact that we have checked with the Postal depot's for foreign parcels in London. the result of this parcel having arrived is negative. In the circumstances, it will be appreciated if you will kindly check to see if it arrived. . and advise us in order that we may close our
