• Daimler Transport Vehicles Ltd. is currently building and dispatching 80 double-deck bus chassis which are going to Hong Kong for service with the Kowloon Motor Bus Co. (1933) Ltd. The chassis are the front-engined CVG-type with Gardner 6LX engines and fourspeed Daimatic semi-automatic transmission.
Designed for maximum carrying capacity, the chassis are fitted with heavy-duty frames, axles and springs. They are being shipped in assembled form, but the bodies, supplied by Metal Sections Ltd., are travelling in kit form for assembly in the Kowloon company's workshops. These latest buses bring the total of Daimler's in service or on order for the Kowloon fleet to nearly 500.
Meanwhile, on the home front, Black and White Motorways Ltd., which already operates 28 Daimler Roadliners, has placed a repeat order for another 10 Roadliners, with standard leaf-spring suspension. The new coaches will be powered by the Perkins V8.510 engine mounted at the rear and developing 170 bhp at 2,800 rpm,
