Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ADEADLOCK in discussions between United Automobile Services, Ltd., and the Teesside Railless Traction Board on proposed bus services through new housing estate developments on the Redcar, North Yorkshire, trunk road, was reported to the Northern Traffic Commissioners on Monday.

Mr. E. C. Parr, for the Board, said that proposals put forward by United were unacceptable. As the local operator, the Board should be given the chance to get on with the job.

For United, Mr. J. L. R. Croft said that in view of the remarks of the chairman. Mr. J. A. T. Hanlon, at the original hearing, that only three-tenths of the area was not already adequately served, it was felt wrong that new services should be applied for. United proposed to divert one bus every hour from their SaltburnMiddlesbrough service.

The hearing -was adjourned so that the United -application could be considered at the same time as objections already lodged by the Traction Board.

OPEN-TOP TOURS OPPOSED

PLANS by Sunderland Corporation for open-top bus tours on the sea front at Sunderland are being opposed by Economic Bus Services. They contend that the proposed fare of 6d. is too low.
