Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

S0 ME fares charged by Hudson's Bus Co., Horncastle (Lines), must be increased to come into line with those of the Lincolnshire Road Car Co., Ltd., the East Midlands Traffic Commissioners have decided. In a reserved decision on Lincolnshire Road Car's application for amendments, they say Hudson's will still have an advantage on some common routes.

The Commissioners state that they are not satisfied that the fares charged on Hudson's stage services arc, by themselves, at an economic level. Any profit the company may show is due to a large amount of private hire and contract work.

They have no doubt that Hudson's have abstracted traffic through their lower fares, but where the companies are not competing Hudson's will be allowed to retain their present fare level. As some of the revisions will not bring the companies completely into line, Lincolnshire Road Car will be allowed decreases if they want them.

It is stipulated, however, that where the big company operate a much greater number of journeys, Hudson's must charge equal fares. Where Hudson's operate a substantial service, their fares will be increased, although remaining lower than those of Lincolnshire Road Car.

NEW KENEX FACTORY MAY DOUBLE PRODUCTION

ANEW factory being built for Kenex, Ltd., the Dover vehicle conversion manufacturers, will make it possible for production to be increased by 100 per cent, through a double production line. The building, which should be in operation by the end of next month, is situated on the outskirts of Dover. It extends to more than 35,000 sq. ft., and is a singlestorey construction, except for a twostorey stores block at the front.

Kenex recently launched a 12-seater conversion conforming to the Ministry of Transport's requirements for public service vehicles. The new factory will be the third in the Kencx group.
