11. UXURIOUS appointments for horses and accompanying personnel are provided in a new horsebox built by J. H. Jennings and Son, Ltd.,.Sandbach, for Mr. B. Stanley, Sheffield. Based on a Commer 3-ton chassis with an extended wheelbase, the body includes a driver's cab, stalls for two horses amidships, which are divided by a centre gangway which links the cab and rear compartment, a luxuriously appointed lounge and a toilet.

The stalls have link-rubber floor mats and metal mangers fitted into recesses forward of the breast rails. The horses enter by a Jennings springcontrolled ramp, and stall fittings include chromium-plated saddle racks, bridle hooks and tying rings. Tools, bucket and other equipment are carried in a felt-lined locker in the skirt. A door with large drop-glass provides access to the lounge from the back of the vehicle.

A settee with Dunlopillo upholstery, covered in green tapestry, runs along each side of the lounge and adequate

.natural lighting is provided by large windows. On the off side at the rear there is a glass-topped cocktail cabinet with built-in radio and felt-lined divisions for bottles. Substantial selfclipping shelves for glasses are located in each of the two doors. Behind the cocktail cabinet is a full-height triangular wardrobe. Above the settee a large roof cupboard and shelving are provided.

The equipment for the toilet compartment includes a washbasin, gas boiler (drawing water from a tank in the roof and Calor gas from a cylinder in a cupboard below the basin); a large mirror and a shelf-mounted gas ring. A gas fire is located on the outside face of the division wall. The double doors arc arranged in such a way that when the rear one is opened inwards to its fullest extent the closet is closed off, whilst the forward door then opens outwards so as to allow greater room for making tea and soup or other culinary activities. A folding table is carried for dining purposes.
