An unfair condition imposed by the 13irkenhead Corporation induced the Crosville Motor Co., who operate a big fleet from Chester, to write to the Wirral District Council with reference to the fares charged by them on buses running between Claughton Village and Upton. Thc company stated that they were granted permission to run from Clanghton by the Birkenhead Corporation on condition that a minimum fare of 5d. was charged to TJpton—or a penny more than the fare charged for the same distance on the corporation buses. The Crosville Co-, in urging that a reduction in the charge should be made, said that unless this was agreed to by the Birkenhead Corporation it would be impossible for them to carry on.
