• The London Boroughs Transport Scheme has launched its appeal against last year's High Court ruling which criticised the Capital's boroughs for "illegally" banning the night movement of vehicles without air brake silencers.
The LBTS will contest the judgement that Ban Condition 11 contravened British domestic law and EC law.
O Just before Christmas police and the LBTS carried out an early-morning lorry check on London's A205/South Circular Road. Few trucks were found to be illegally using the road in restricted hours, and only one driver is likely to be prosecuted.
