Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A PAYLOAD of over 25.5 tonnes, space for 26 loaded metric pallets and an unusual cross-braced load-restraint system are three features of a prototype 38-tonne highvolume curtainsider developed by Lawrence David for International Distillers and Vintners.

The specially developed King tandem-axle dropwell semi-trailer has a lowered centre deck section 5.3m long which allows eight pairs of pallets to be double-stacked while keeping within a normal 4.2m trailer height.

Deck height is only 660mm, allowing a 2.7m loading height under the curtain pelmet.

Six pallets can be stacked along the 4m long forward section, with another four placed on the 2.9m long rear floor section. 113V has experimented with straight-frame curtainsidcrs at 38 tonnes GCW, but found them incapable of handling double tiers of fully loaded pallets.

As an additional safety measure, Lawrence David has developed a diagonal load restraint system on the 1,1 50kg weight body, in addition to the Armoursheet load-bearing curtains.

An extra 700kg has also been trimmed off the air-suspended MAN 22.321 6x2 tractive unit, which is fitted with a day, rather than a sleeper cab and low-profile wheels.
