MAY I. doubtless along with many others, point out the week's deliberate mistake in CM December 14 — or was it the Hunt the Foden competition? Thi very interesting photograph of the Siddle.C. Cook fleet comprised five Guys and a solitary ERF at the end — representing the mundane clement of this interesting fleet; the Guys were nevertheless somewhat rare even when current and any of them would now make welcome additions to the ranks o preserved commercials.
1 can't specifically recall the Siddle Guys hut do recall those of another Tyneside operator — J. W. Capstaff which used to run along with his light■ Traders on the Al — Great North Roa trunks. Without checking I would guei that the models shown were perhaps a Warrior tractor (you can see the manw winch of its machinery carrying trailer; in the proprietory cab shared with Thornycroft). The next two I think were early Invincibles whilst the latter two were. I think, called Hannibals am date from the mid-Fifties. I understand that one of these latter models at least resides in Yorkshire where it is reputedly a snowplough/ tow motor foi a well-known carrier.
