Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ARRANGEMENTS have been made for the East Kent Road Car Co., Ltd., to provide the English road link of new coach-air services to France which Skyways, Ltd., 7 Berkeley Street, London, W.1, are hoping to introduce this year. East Kent already supply coaches for the London-Lympne section of Skyways' coach-air service to Paris.

The new routes, for which provisional approval has been obtained, will serve central and southern France, airports at Lyons, Vichy and Valence being used. The final approval of the French Government has still to be obtained.

It is planned to introduce the first service early in April. This would operate between London, Lympne, Lyons and Nice, but passengers not wishing to go on to Nice would be able to change at Lyons to surface services to all parts of the Mediterranean seaboard and southern France.

The London-Nice inclusive return fare would be about £20 and • the travelling time from London to Lyons approximately 5+ hours. French coach operators would provide facilities for the surface section between Lyons and Nice. Initially, the service would operate once a day, rising later to five return journeys each day.

Skyways are proposing to operate this year up to 16 return services a day in the peak periods on the LondonParis service, which was described in ^.6e Commercial Motor on November 30.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR HIGH-BRIDGE BUSES

A S an additional safety precaution, a low bridge in Middlesbrough is to be fitted with flashing lights to warn drivers of the corporation's high-bridge double-deck buses. Numerous accidents have been caused by this type of double-decker attempting to pass under the bridge, despite its being equipped with an automatic stop light.

Steering wheels of high-bridge buses are to be painted a different colour from those on low-briage models as an initial warning to drivers.
