the Bristol-based truck air brake component manufacturer Bendix, has retired after 31 years with the company.
He joined Bendix in 1956 when it was known as Douglas (Kingswood), and became managing director (operations) in 1983.
Hawkins is succeeded by Jim Lambert who joined Bendix in 1987 as manufacturing director. Lambert has worked extensively within Bendix, having been director of afterrnarket operations for Bendix in North America.
Lambert is a graduate in Business Studies from Austin Peay State University; he will have overall responsibility for manufacturing, quality, materials, purchasing and personnel.
