Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The new 242kW (325hp) version of Cummins' 10-litre straight-six L10 diesel engine will make its debut before the end of the spring. Cummins is not releasing details of the new L10 variant, but it will feature air-to-air charge-cooling, unlike the 216kW (290hp) LTA10-290 engine, which has air-to-water charge-cooling and is currently the most-powerful L10 engine available in the UK.

The uprated L10 will provide the missing link between Cummins LTA-10-290 and its heavier 14-litre Super E range, which is offered at ratings between 238kW and 336kW (320hp-450hp).

No official announcement has been made as to which manufacturer will be first to fit the LTA10-330 (the engine's likely designation) but the most likely candidates to take the new engine are those already fitting the LTA10-290, including Ford, Foden, ERF, Leyland Daf and Seddon Atkinson.
