Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

HESTAIR DENNIS has won an order to supply 20 new midibuses and 30 double-deckers to Greater Manchester Transport.

The single deckers will be based on a new chassis developed from the Dominator double-decker. The air-sprung midis will feature a low floor and full width entrance door. The buses are to be 7.6m (25ft) long and 2.3m (7ft 6in) wide.

Northern Counties bodies with accommodation for 40 passengers (20 seated and 20 standing) have been specified.

The as yet un-named nnidibus chassis is to be powered by a transverse-mounted Perkins 6.354.4 naturally-aspirated sixcylinder engine driving through a four-speed Brockhouse Maxwell automatic gearbox.

A hub reduction type rear axle is being fitted to allow a flat saloon floor. Dennis plans to offer a turbocharged version of the chassis if required.

The chassis are expected to be supplied to the bodybuilders by October for delivery to GMT for the end of the year.

GMT has also ordered 30 Dominator double-deckers, which will also be bodied by Northern Counties. These will have Voith D851 gearboxes and Gardner engines.
