Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

TOURIST bus trips through Stirling, organised by the local authority, cost approximately £450 a week to run, and took only £50 in fares.

Now the director of the Stirling District Festival, Michael Grayson, has asked that the service, which was scrapped, be reintroduced for two weeks of the festival.

But when members of the Central Regional Council's tourist committee heard of the costly figures, the plan was immediately opposed. Convenor James Anderson said, "People can argue that if we had £700 to spend there would be better things to use that money on. The organisers of the festival can always approach Alexanders bus company.

"We would tell the festival organisers, however, that in our experience it costs about £500 a week to run and that the income is not enough to cover it."

The festival organisers also hope to close two streets in the town during the event.
