WACRO Lines Ltd of Felixstowe, is celebrating the first anniversary of its roll-on-roll-off service to Lagos. The service has clocked up 12 sailings. The fastest recorded voyage is 101/2 days and average turnaround in Lagos is 48 hours. All goods are stored in Wacro's own private compound between unloading and delivery. Wacro still maintain their close connection with the IBRU organisation of Nigeria and have their own office in Lagos.
Starting from this month Wacro will be operating two sailings per month using vessels with capacity for 45-96 12-metre trailers or other wheeled or self-propelled vehicles. From April, Wacro will be using a newly built German ship which will carry 71 trailers and have space for 40 cars.
