THE 2009 MAN everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards are now open for entries.

The awards, in association with Skills for Logistics (SfL) and supported by CM'S sister title Motor Transport, are designed to highlight the contributions women make in the industry and encourage more women to pursue a career in the sector.

There are six categories that women can either nominate themselves for or be nominated for by someone else. The categories are: • Rising star of the year • Industry trainer • Commercial driver • Director of the year • Outstanding team led by a woman • Warehousing award Maxine Benson, co-founder and director of everywoman, says: "These awards are demonstrating that transport and logistics is a sector where women can prosper and succeed."

MAN chief executive Des Evans adds: "If the calibre of last year's nominees and winners are anything to go by, these awards are a testament to all the women working within this sector."

The deadlinefornominations is 27 February 2009.

The award winners will be revealed at a gala lunch at the Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square, London on 14 May.
