• Lawyers acting for hundreds of hauliers demanding compensation from last year's French blockades say the French have moved the goalposts for the claims procedure yet again.

"The response to some of our claims, which in our view were perfect, is that they are now asking for invoices to be translated into French," says Keith Hearn, managing partner at solicitors Ford & Warren.

Hearn has written back saying the latest request does not accord with the French Government's published guidelines on how to make a claim. "If legal action is required then so be it," he adds.
