Job seeking engineer gets the runaround

Iam a road transport engineer and have been one for a long time. Being in my fifties, I was suddenly faced with the problem of finding employment. I specialise in HGV and PSV and wondered if you know any companies that could use me I could not afford to buy your magazine, which stops me keeping up with your situations vacant section.

have been to the job centre, trying to entice them into paying for me to take the CPC or Vehicle Inspectorate exams. The centre has been giving me the runaround. They cannot give one a direct answer. At first I was told, "never heard of it".

I mentioned that it has to do with the Ministry of Transport. All I wanted was them to fund my exams so I don't have to sign on or live off the state.

I am always being told if you don't try, you will never know; hence this letter.
