THEY SAID anything could happen and it did when a Dennis Dominator double-deck bus with Gardner 6LXB engine covered 550 miles from Warrington to Villefranche, in the heart of Beaujolais country, in 31hr 35min to deliver a bottle of Vladivar vodka. It was competing with aeroplanes, helicopters and fast cars in Britain's crazy answer to the equally crazy Beaujolais race and finished 20th.
