THE BRITISH Standards Institute has revised its guide to the stowage of goods in freight containers. BS5073, just published by BSI, replaces its 1974 edition and concentrates more on actual stowage procedures than its earlier, more generalised version.
The revision provides guidance on the use of containers to transport goods by road, rail, sea and inland waterways with special emphasis on satisfactory safety levels and minimum damage to cargoes.
