The Brackley station site on the erstwhile Towcester to Banbury branch line was rented at first; last year Jells bought three acres of the site on which new premises will shortly be erected. The two most recent.coaches in the fleet are Bedford-Duple Bella Vegas bought new last year--one has already done 71,000 miles. Next year another two Bedfords will be acquired, this time with Plaxtort coach bodies, not because of any dislike for the Duple bodies, but simply to let people know that the
• coaches are, in fact, new.
Turning to the question of future services, the possibility of •a Tuesday evening service into Brackley for doctor's surgery is noW being discussed. This, of course, is of no interest, to the chamber• of trade, and. the introduction of the service will depend on the Ministry of Transport's. willingness to subsidize the service. However, the existing guaranteed service does stand a fair chance of operating beyond its three months trial period. Trials are to be carried out shortly with a new Belgraphic ticket machine, for one-man operation, and dispensing with a conductor in this way might well turn the service into a profit-making affair! Nottingham Replacement Delay : A delivery delay has forced Nottingham City transport department to postpone for two months the replacement of 24 troileybuses by rearengined motorbuses. The change-over will start next February.
