BECAUSE of the increasing volume of complaints from members of the Road Haulage Association whose vehicles pass through Carlisle, Maj. R. A. B. Smith, Association's consultant on roads, will be visiting the town next Monday and Tuesday to discuss the problem with the city engineer and surveyor, the county surveyor for Cumberland, and representatives of passenger operators and motorists.
The traffic problem has been aggravated by main road repairs and Maj. Smith will be discussing ways and means of accelerating progress.
